Molecular biologist who focused on DNA repair and mutation. He is also known for his pioneering studies on nucleotide excision repair and he used to conduct research at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund.
He attended Westminster College before receiving his Ph.D. degree in Biophysics at the University of California, Berkeley in 1977.
