Before Fame
He grew up listening to jazz and rock, learning to play the drums when he was 10. In the late 70s, he started the Stray Cats with a childhood friend and is known for standing up instead of sitting while drumming.

Family Life
His real name is James McDonnell. He was married to Britt Ekland from 1984 to 1992 and has a son with her named Thomas Jefferson. He married his second wife Jennie Vee in 2020.
