Before Fame

He started rapping when he was 16 years old and originally used the name Merk Mikz. He survived a violent attack that same year that left him with permanent facial scars which would eventually inspire his album Scars. He began posting music on YouTube in 2011. He released his first album Canadian Bacon in 2012. He began focusing on rap covers in the late 2010s and his ''Old Town Road Remix'' went viral and was viewed more than 70 million times.

Trivia

His song "Bass" featuring Tech N9ne and Hopsin was included on the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 soundtrack in 2020. He appeared on Dr. Phil in 2020 to discuss his album Apply Pressure and encourage an aspiring rapper dealing with addiction.

His real name is Cole Stevenson. He was born and raised in Surrey, British Columbia.
