Model and actress widely regarded as one of the first Asian models to tread the circuit of European catwalks. She has modeled in runway shows for some of the biggest names in fashion, including John Galliano, Ralph Lauren, Michael Kors, and many more. She has also appeared on the cover of fashion magazines such as Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

Before Fame

She began modeling at the age of 15 and at 17, travelled to the United States for New York Fashion Week. She made her professional debut in 2001, walking runways in Paris for Christian Dior and Valentino Garavani. Later that same year, she was photographed by Carter Smith for a 16-page editorial that was featured in Harper's Bazaar. 

Trivia

As an actress, she has appeared in the 2004 feature film Devilman and in series such as Mielino Kashiwagi and The Long Goodbye. She also had a starring role in the 2019 series Grand Maison Tokyo.

Family Life

In 2004, she married a Japanese chef, with whom she had one son. The couple later divorced in 2009.
