Before Fame

He introduced his YouTube channel on September 9, 2016. The channel debuted with a video titled "Unbelievable True Story (Scary Story)." The video featured his narration of a frightening tale which had eventually evolved into somewhat of an urban legend but was, in fact, originally inspired by actual events. Since the 2016 launch of his channel, it has recruited over 420,000 subscribers and 77 million total views.

Trivia

He is the founder of Chilling App, which he created as a platform for independent horror content including short films, stories, podcasts, and more. In February 2024, he attended what has been called the Inland Empire's largest horror-themed convention, Creep I.E. Con, to promote the Chilling App. Fellow attendees of the convention included Bonnie Aarons, David Arquette, Adrienne Barbeau, and a multitude of other horror film actors.

The real name of the creator behind Being Scared is Dane Petrali. He is from the United States. In November 2017, he got married to his wife, who goes by the name Mrs. Being Scared on her social media accounts. She is the mother of 3 children, including 2 sons and 1 daughter.

His "Scary Stories Told in the Rain" video from 2018 featured YouTube megastar Corpse Husband as a guest narrator. He has also welcomed guest narrators onto his channel such as Mr. Davis, Urmaker, and Mr. Nightmare.
