Turkish professional football player who was known for his work as a winger and striker on several German and Turkish clubs including TSV Grunbach, Kocaelispor, and Altay. He is also known for having played on the Turkish national team as a forward.
He started his youth career in 1986 as part of the FC Viktoria Johlingen club. He then trained with the Karlsruher WSC in 1991 before making his senior career debut with the Fenerbahce club in 2000. That same year he made his debut on the Under 21 Turkey national team before joining their first team in 2002.
He is known for having won the Belgian Pro League during the 2005 season as part of the RSC Anderlecht club.
While he was born and raised in Bretten, West Germany, his family is of Turkish descent.
He switched to the number 24 when he joined the RSC Anderlecht club because Mbo Mpenza had already taken the number 9.
