On his Instagram, he has made numerous posts that uplift legendary musical artists, including Michael Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder.

In 1986, he became a member of Heavy D & The Boyz. In 1990, he co-wrote the theme song for the TV show In Living Color.
