Global political educator whose informative videos have shined a light on worldwide topics such as gun ownership, nuclear weaponry, South African genocide, the Israel-Hamas war, and the Korean military. With over 5 million subscribers on his self-titled YouTube channel, he has become well-known for offering his viewers a clear and unbiased look at topics affecting people all over the world. Between 2017 and 2019, he also produced and presented the Emmy Award-nominated documentary short-film series Borders for Vox Media. 

Before Fame

After graduating from Ashland High School in his home state of Oregon, he embarked on a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Tijuana, Mexico. He went on to earn his bachelor's degree in international relations and affairs from Brigham Young University before receiving his master's degree in international peace and conflict resolution from American University in 2016.

Trivia

In the year 2019, he founded the company Bright Trip, which is a video-based travel course platform. He has produced several pieces for The New York Times, including the 2021 video "Blue States, You're the Problem," which later became the recipient of an Emmy Award.

Family Life

He and his wife Isabel "Izzy" Harris are the parents of 2 sons. He is the son-in-law of a ballistic missile submarine captain.
