Screen actress perhaps best known for playing the integral role of Lucy Saxon on the revived Doctor Who television series, beginning in 2007. She played vital roles on series like Hotel Babylon, Strike Back, Dickensian, Fortitude, and The Ipcress File. She also portrayed Anne, Princess Royal in the 2005 TV movie Whatever Love Means, and Zoe in the 2018 biographical drama film A Private War. 

Before Fame

After completing her English studies at Leeds University, she went on to the prestigious London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) to obtain her acting degree. She made her screen acting debut in episodes of Foyle's War and Midsomer Murders before earning her first lead role as Tamsin in the television adventure mini-series Tripping Over in 2006.

Also an accomplished stage actress, she has performed on stages throughout England and Scotland. In 2003, she starred in the William Shakespeare classic The Merchant of Venice and the Anton Chekhov drama The Seagull, at the Chichester Festival Theatre in West Sussex. She also appeared in plays like Look Back in Anger by John Osbourne, Phaedra's Love by Sarah Kane, and The Lady from the Sea by Henrik Ibsen, among others.

Family Life

Her father worked as an oceanographer and her mother worked as a teacher. She has 2 younger brothers. She married director Sam Miller in 2019. The pair share 2 sons.
