Actor Alexander Skarsgård is an actual military veteran, as he served in Sweden's military equivalent to the US Marine Corps. The miniseries won three Emmys at the 2009 Emmy Awards, including an award for Outstanding Sound Editing for a Miniseries, Movie or a Special.
