A young girl named Nellie Chambers believes she earned the opportunity of a lifetime to study at Crown Lake Boarding School, but the school does not provide the fresh start that she was hoping for a year after losing her mom. The series takes place during the 1990's and was written by Sara Shepard, best-selling author of Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game book series.
