Trivia
The movie is a follow-up to the films The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie and The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water. It was the first film in the series to be fully animated in stylized CG rather than traditional 2D animation. The film was released in Canada in August 2020 and is scheduled for a US release in early 2021.
